Free RPG Day
Flying Buffalo participated in both "Free RPG Days" in 2007 and 2008
You could have visited any one of the more than 300 gamestores on that day, and picked up a FREE copy (short version) of the Tunnels & Trolls rules, plus a solo adventure that will allow you to play the game by yourself, or with friends. You can still get a copy by visiting our booth at ORIGINS or GENCON, or by agreeing to run a T&T event for us at your local convention or gamestore. Email rick at flying buffalo dot com. Or you can just purchase one for $2.
To get the 2007 version:
Here is a link to the cover for the 2007 Free RPG Day book
The 2008 version:
It contained a short version of the rules, a GM adventure by Ken St Andre and a (very short) solo by Rick Loomis
Unfortunately we have given away or sold all copies of the 2008 version. Be sure and get the 2009 one Saturday June 20th.
We are also participating in the 2009 Free RPG Day. To find a list of retail stores where you can pick up a free copy of our T&T submission, click the Free RPG Day logo above. It contains a short version of the rules, and a GM adventure and a short solo adventure.
T&T RULEBOOK v5.5 NEWS:The book is here. I have shipped all the pre-orders. This version has 32 new pages including the complete Buffalo Castle solo adventure, plus Ken St Andre's "Chronology of Trollworld" plus new optional rules from Ken such as "Character Creation", "Half Breeds and Unusual Character Types", "Combat", "Spite Damage", "The Many-dice Problem", "Style of Play", and "The Money of Trollworld" AND "Skills in T&T" and "Pulling your Punches" by Michael Stackpole. It also includes the complete version 5.0 of the rules. If you order the T&T rules or the T&T Box set or the T&T Summer Special #1 below, you will get version 5.5 of the rules, which is a rulebook 8 1/2" x 11" in size, with the square binding. If you order the 30th Anniversary edition, from the next paragraph here, you will get version 7.0, which is very similar to 5.5 except it has some additions and improvements by Ken. Either version can be used with the solitare adventures, and is easy to learn and play. And the 7.0 version (TWICE as powerful as "the other" company's version 3.5) is a small sized rulebook with spiral binding so it lays flat.
T&T 30th ANNIVERSARY EDITION, version 7.0.produced by our friends at Fiery Dragon - comes in a metal box, includes cardboard heros and monsters, and a CD. Huge bargain. However, we seem to have run out of them, sorry.
The Fiery Dragon people created a version 7.5 which was released at Gencon. The price is $35. We have a few copies.

Email rick at flying buffalo dot com and ask which SA issues are available.
We do have Issue #12: fiction by Charles de Lint, articles by Manly Wade Wellman, Larry DiTillio, and Lee Duigon, T&T Mini-solo. For $5

All on your lonesome and you want to play T&T? Well, how about a couple of T&T Solitaire Adventures? The book is the gamemaster, and each can be played many times. The solo adventures listed here are coded for difficulty, number & type of characters permitted within. "War" means warrior; "Wiz" means magic-user; "any" means any character class allowed (warrior, wizard, or rogue). "L1-3" means it is for 1st through 3rd level characters. "MM" means Magic Matrix is included. [Note: Missing numbers are out of print. Please don’t ask us for them. We suggest you check stores that sell used games, or try game auctions at conventions, or put a classified ad in a gaming magazine. Many magazines will put "items wanted" ads from gamers for practically nothing.]
