Below is the description of the "Origins Poker Deck" that was sold at the Origins Game Convention in June of 2008. There were only 6000 decks printed up, and when they are sold out, they will no longer be available. We will be selling these at all the conventions I attend until they are gone. If you would like to order one of these decks to be mailed to you, use this link. They are $5 each plus shipping.

At the "Origins Poker Game" drawing at Origins 2008, the winner of the $100 prize was Casandra Johnson of Toledo, Ohio.
Here is the list of cards in the 2008 Poker deck:

It is too late to get into the 2008 Origins Poker Deck. However it appears to be a success and we will try it again in 2009. If you would like to participate in the 2009 edition, fill out the reservation form below and mail or fax it to me. You don't need to get the art to me until March of 2009, and I won't charge your credit card until the printer bills me for the cards.
Origins Poker Deck: I'm going to print up at least 5000 poker decks with the Origins logo on the backs, (2500 in red, 2500 in blue), and 52 different advertisements on the fronts. I'll be selling these decks at all the conventions I go to, until they run out. Plus, we'll be playing a "Poker game" at Origins this June.
How the game works: I'll put an ad in the Origins program book listing the booth numbers of all the card advertisers. I'll give each sponsor/advertiser a bunch of cards to give away. You can give one card to each customer who makes a purchase, or participates in a demo of your product, or whatever qualification you choose. The customer tries to get a "straight flush" (i.e. five cards in order, all the same suit). If he has a straight flush, he turns it in at the Flying Buffalo booth for an entry in the drawing.
For $285 you get your ad that you compose, in full color, on the front of one card (which can include your address, website, etc) which would appear on at least 5000 decks of cards; plus you would get 50 decks to sell or give away; plus you'd get a link to your website (if you have one) from the Flying Buffalo website (I'll set up a page describing the card deck, telling how to get a deck, listing what company is on each card i.e. Flying Buffalo is the Jack of Hearts, and including a link from that description to the company's website. This would be a permanent link to your webpage. see Go to www.flyingbuffalo.com/ogamer.htm for an example.)
Note that you can sell your 50 decks for $5.00 each and recover most of your cost. I plan to sell extra decks for $5. PLUS if you are exhibiting at Origins, I'd include the Origins promotional game for no extra charge except you have to donate a prize. If you have a preference for which card you want your ad on, first come first choice.
If you wish to buy an ad on more than one card, they will be $250 each.
I won't take any money until the cards are actually being printed -- I'll take a credit card number and charge you when I have to pay for the cards.
Remember this will be a regular playing card deck. It will probably end up being a collectors item. Plus some people will play poker or whatever with these.

Technical details: give us a tif file if possible or a jpg or bmp if necessary. 300 dpi, make it 2 1/2" by 3" in size - we'll shrink it down a bit to fit on the card. We would prefer that you make the text part of the artwork, but if you can't do that, we will add the text, just tell us what you want to say. The art will be printed in full color. (no bleeds). We'll need your art by March 15. Note that WE will provide the outer part of the artwork - the standard card deck symbols. You just provide the art for your product or logo.
